Enterprise Development promotes the enhancement of income generating or livelihood projects through microfinance, technical assistance & institutional development. The Foundation conceptualized the microfinance program to address the credit needs of the enterprising poor women of Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet.

Program Objectives:
Introduce, expand and/or improve value-added economic activities which will enable clients to earn more from their enterprises.
Encourage capital formation or savings.

Ecological Enhancement supports projects on environmental conservation and rehabilitation. Program components are community-based resource management, infrastructure support and technical assistance. Environmental projects supported by the Foundation are focused on watershed and solid waste management.

Program Objectives:
Promote the protection and rehabilitation of critical ecological resources.
Promote rational and controlled utilization of resources.

On going projects:

Water, Trees and Life for La Trinidad Rural Communities 
Through grants from the New Zealand Agency for International Development, the three-year project aims to reduce poverty and improve the environment and health conditions of the small farm families in La Trinidad, Benguet. The target barangays are Ambiong, Wangal, Shilan, Puguis and Beckel.
The project intends to realize the following: access to basic facilities for water through watersystem and watershed rehabilitation; develop community livelihood; increase environmental health awareness among the residents; and develop and strengthen community organization.
 

Save the Forests of La Trinidad 
Through grants from Philippine Tropical Forest Conservation Program, the project aims to empower community members in Alno and Alapang to protect, improve and manage their forest reservations. Specifically, it aims to: conduct mapping, ecological profiling and survey of the remaining forests; delineate and protect the areas of the communal forest; empower and enable the community to develop and prioritize appropriate policy interventions and forest management plans; and, raise public awareness through Information Education Campaign.

 

Level II Watersystem for Alno 
This project is being funded by Peace Equity Access for Community Empowerment Foundation (PEF). The project aims to establish a community-managed potable water in Alno which started on March 2007 with a project cost of P1.6M.

Special Projects deal with various projects promoting environmental protection, capacity building and livelihood projects for the community. Ongoing projects are in partnership with DISOP-PACE, Heifer International-Philippines, Private Sector Mobilization for Family Health (PRISM-USAID), and Philip Morris Incorporated.

Ongoing Projects:

Integrating Microfinance and Health Education to Empower Women and Reduce Poverty in Metro Baguio
A project in partnership with the Private Sector Mobilization for Family Health of the United States Agency for International Development (PRISM-USAID) implemented in Baguio City, La Trinidad and parts of Tuba, Tublay and Itogon. Primarily, the project aims to extend JVOFI microfinance support to 50 private practice midwives and provide family planning services to at least 2,000 women of reproductive age.

 

Integrating Livestock Production, Environment Protection and Enterprise Development to Reduce Poverty in Western Isabela (InLivesPro Project)
Through grant funds from Heifer International, the project seeks to provide livestock support to 50 selected families in barangays San Jose, Munos West and San Pedro in the municipality of Roxas, Isabela. The main objective of the livestock dispersal is to provide opportunity for the selected initial beneficiaries to earn additional income from sales of fattened chicken, goats and carabaos.

 

Urban Partnerships for Sustainable Upliftment, Renewal, Governance & Empowerment Project
The project seeks to sustain the accomplishments of the initial UPSURGE Project in the Fisherman's Village in Barangay Poro, San Fernando, La Union implemented by the Philippine Business Progress (PBSP). The project is funded by the World Bank-Partnership of Philippine Supoprt Service Agencies, Inc. (PHILSSA).

Resource Generation aims to make available the required financial resources for the Foundation to pursue its mandate. This is achieved through fund sourcing, training and consultancy, and asset management.

Program Objectives:
Access grant funds for the implementation of the Strategic Plan.
Improve existing and develop new sustainable institutional products and services which will generate revenue that can be leveraged for the Foundation’s programs.

Internal-Capacity Building ensures the provision of adequate support in terms of improving staff competencies, designing appropriate management systems and making available the required logistics.

Program Objectives:
Provide opportunities for staff to develop their competence along the major programs and requirements of the Strategic Plan.
Make available the required logistics and update management systems and procedures to facilitate the accomplishment of the Strategic Plan.
